Terrorist Financing Targeting Center Hosts Capacity Building Workshop on Interagency Coordination and Terrorist Financing Typologies

On October 27, 2024, member states of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) participated in a virtual capacity-building workshop on terrorist financing and proliferation financing typologies, as well as interagency coordination.  The United States and Saudi co-chairs, along with the Bahraini representative, offered opening remarks, with the three countries highlighting the critical role of the TFTC.

The U.S. representatives presented on terrorist financing typologies, outlining current, evolving, and emerging typologies, and the relationship with proliferation financing. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia spoke on interagency coordination, and the U.S. Department of Justice and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, a U.S. Department of Treasury bureau, outlined their respective roles in ensuring seamless coordination among U.S. government agencies.

The workshop provided TFTC member states with the opportunity to discuss the ever-changing landscape of terrorist financing risks and vulnerabilities.  The TFTC will continue to seek opportunities for member states to contribute their insight and work together to bolster member countries’ abilities to disrupt terrorist financing networks.
